Sobibor
Adam Brown
Sobibor was a killing center designed for killing as many Jews as possible.
It was built in a woody, swampy area.
They used gas chambers as the most used killing operation.
The dead bodies were buried in deep trenches.
In the summer of 1942 the bodies were dug up out of the trenches and burned so there was no more evidence that sobibor was ever there.
Sobibor was one of the three Aktion Reinhard camps.
Sobibor was divided into three killing centers.
Belzec was one of the reinhard camps as well as Treblinka.
While the bodies were dug up and burned the ashes of the bodies were thrown in the river at night.
Sobibor was divided into three main parts the administration area, the reception area, and the killing area.
Killing areas included gas chambers, mass graves, and barracks for the prisoners.
There was a path that was called the "Tube".
The Tube lead from the reception area to the gas chambers.
The people were told to undress and then run through the tube where they got gassed with carbon monoxide.
