Between 1939 and 1941 Reinhard Heydrich, head of the Security Main Office, Sipo, and the Security Service, deported 30,000 German and Austrian Roma to Poland. Commonly and incorrectly called Gypsies, the Roma and Sinti were the largest groups of nomadic Gypsies. They were in tribes and states. They were departed to Poland in groups of 2,500. The others went to the Lote Ghetto (5,000). Many died on the marches, or worked to death. In May 1941, the Nazis open the Euthanasia Program. Euthanasia- Also called mercy killing. the act of putting to death painlessly or allowing to die, as by withholding extreme medical measures, a person or animal suffering from an incurable, especially a painful, disease or condition. Also, painless death. The program was set up for people with mental or physical disabilities. At first, it was just a camp for kids. There 5,000 infants,kids, and juveniles were killed. Later Hitler extended the program to adults. He also signed a form in secret protecting involved people from prosecution. Six more chambers were installed to the program. After they were killed, they were cremated. Protests started after knowledge of the program was publicized. 70,000 adults protested and the program stopped for adults. They continued the children's program in more secrecy. Instead, of gassing, they were now killed by lethal injection, medical overdose and starvation. In the end, the Euthanasia Program killed 200,000 people.

The Poles and Slavs (that weren't Jews) were the primary targets. They were Untermenschen, or subhumans. Most were killed by mobile killing squads. Polititians of the Communist, Socialist, and trade unions were killed and taken prisoner. Homosexuals started being killed in 1933. The police raided gay clubs and bars and took 5 to 15,000 prisoners. Publications by homosexuals were prohibited and burned.
